Menton, France

I like the subtle colours on this pillar with the background almost B&W. This is straight out of the camera. I have always been drawn to neutral and subdued colours.
Shot at f 4.0 1/60 at ISO 100 on a 50mm lens.

In My Shadow

There is the classic definition of what makes a good photo, rule of thirds, tack sharp focus, oblique lines, triangles and on and on. OK this is not that! But I LOVE this photo, as does Will who is the boy in the picture. To me this should be a novel cover. There is big trend in fiction book covers for the photos to be out of focus...check the bookstore or library the next time you are there.
I'm such a safe, middle of the road, vanilla kind of photographer.....but I want to stretch out of that, a bit anyway. So here is me stretching.
Shot at f 4.0 1/1000sec ISO 100 and obviously out of focus!!!

Jelly beans anyone?

f11.0 0.5 sec ISO 100 on a tripod using foam core board to reflect the light from a west facing window. I'm really enjoying photographing food but it's much harder than it looks....it seems to take a lot of different settings and angles to get what I'm hoping for, and even then I'll get a shot I like but it wasn't what I had in mind. Candy is especially fun to shoot because it's so colourful.

My beloved

Here is a photo of Michael that I love. It's very hard to get him to relax in front of the camera. He loves to ham it up most of the time, but here he is enjoying Valentine's Day at Island View Beach.
Shot at f4.0 1/1000 ISO 100 on a 70-200mm zoom set at 200mm.

           Shot at f4.0 1/800 ISO 100.
Today was a beautiful sunny Valentine's Day and there dogs and their owners galore at Island View Beach, including this gorgeous Great Dane and her owner.

Espresso cup

Part of a food shoot for an upcoming photo club competition. I'm not entering this but had fun with 'grain' in Photoshop. Have always been a huge fan of grainy B&W but kept the colour in this one as I like it better.
Shot at f4.0 1/125 ISO 100 on a tripod.

My co-worker

I am lucky enough to get to have this beautiful Golden Retriever as my co-worker. She is a certified assistance dog for a woman with a disability. I have another shot of her on this Blog somewhere. I love her to bits, she brings so much joy into my life.
Shot at Island View Beach on a rainy afternoon. f4.0 1/320 ISO 400. Converted to B&W in Photoshop and then tweaked the channels a bit to give it a hint of a sepia.

Venice Canal #2

This is straight out of the camera...one of my favorite canal shots. See if you can spot a photographer in the shot.
Shot a f5.0 1/320 ISO 100 on a 50mm lens.
